It's been a while...

I must apologise for the long delay in adding to this blog. Much has happened in the last year and a half...

On the mastering side, a number of new clients - both independent artists as well as some regular producers/mix engineers.

Mixing wise, some really nice projects - in particular, Jah Prayzah's new record as well as a new offering from Mann Friday.

Recently, I produced and recorded a really great track for Zolani (from Freshlyground) which has been released through Red Bicycle Music. Originally done by Cesaria Evora but with a new groove and new lyrics, Spread Your Love has already been playlisted on Radio One in Holland, and looks set to do great things in Europe this summer! The best part of it was having the song mastered by the legendary Darcy Proper - she mastered one of my all-time favourite records, Morph The Cat by Donald Fagen (Grammy winner - 2006).

But the most exciting news is that I am about to open a Cape Town campus for the Academy Of Sound Engineering. First intake will be February 2016. We recently acquired Spaced Out Sound Studios, home of the very talented Tully McCully (check out http://www.tulmicrophones.com) - his hand-built mics have become really popular. Guitar Player Magazine (USA) revealed the G12 as Joe Bonammasa's 'secret studio weapon'.

What this also means is that I will have a new, purpose-built mixing and mastering room - designed by Jacob van der Westhuizen.

Pictures to follow....
